Crocs Post 11 - Rainy Weather Doesn’t Stop My Crocs!

Rainy Weather Doesn’t Stop My Crocs!

Who says it never rains in California?  When I lived in New Jersey and that song was in the top twenty I thought it had to be true and I HAD to move to that magical land of sunshine some day.  But after moving here in January 1991 I quickly realized that another part of the song was what *really* made it true.  “It pours, man it pours.” Yes, even in New Jersey I never experienced downpours like the downpours here in the the Golden State.  Typically starting in January and often lasting though March, the rains here can be frighteningly torrential. But the rest of the year is always dry as a bone.  That’s why it’s been quite an unusual few months.  We’ve had some rain almost every month this summer.  And the fall has gotten off to a really wet start too. But I’m happy to report that my Crocs carry me through every bit of rain that falls.  Just take a look at my foul weather faves, the Jaunt and the Surrey, and you’ll see what I mean!

Crocs Surrey

So does the Surrey!

Bruce and I enjoy the rain here in SoCal.  For us, running in the rain is a rare treat. And of course I wear my Crocs Classics no matter what Mother Nature throws my way. However, we do realize that when we have visitors from the Northeast they generally want to escape this type of weather. Unfortunately for our friends Margie and Ed, who visited us a few weeks ago, they came to “sunny” California and found themselves in the same conditions they left behind in Boston.  Sorry guys… But that didn’t stop us from having a fun-filled few days, did it?

Mission Inn

A moment of no rain at the historic Mission Inn.

It’s always interesting to tour the southland from the mountains to the sea, even if you can’t bask in the sunshine.  There are lots of places to go and sites to explore.  Two of our notable stops on day one of Margie and Ed’s visit were the Mission Inn in Riverside, where we had a delicious lunch al fresco in between rain storms, and the mountain town of Big Bear, where it was not only rainy but pretty darn cold as well.  Day two found us winding along the misty coast from Laguna Beach to Huntington Beach where the sea air smelled fresh and felt invigorating each time we stopped.  In HB we ducked into the fabulous new Crocs store where Margie and I both found some shoes we just had to take home.  Margie loved the gold Melbourne and I picked up a pair of plum Crocband Winter Flats.
