My Croc Running Anniversary
On Sunday November 7th 2010 I ran the Santa Clarita Marathon. It was a special day because it was at this marathon in 2007 that I became a pain-free Croc Runner. And three years later I am still both!
The Finish Line!
A few blogs back I talked about how and why it came to pass that I ran off the course, back to my car, and changed into my Crocs mid-race in the 2007 Santa Clarita Marathon. There was no such change of footwear this year. On race morning 2010 I proudly sported my new, bright white Classics and continued my streak of pain-free marathons. Well, I should say heel pain free. As anyone who runs knows, marathons are never completely pain-free. Mentally and physically they do often hurt and they usually test the limits of what we're willing to endure.
Some of the inspiring runners I know and admire.
Getting through 26.2 miles with a non-functioning achilles is never easy for me but I get my inspiration from the runners around me who are all pushing their limits despite what their bodies tell them. I have to thank them all for keeping me going.
Santa Clarita was my 160th marathon and it was my 23rd in Crocs. I hope to run many more for many more years to come - in as many color Crocs as possible!
The 2010 Finisher Medal.
Another reason we run - the post-race food!
